The devices emit MultiWave(lengths) of UV-free light to
increase micro-circulation, delivering oxygen and nutrients
to tissues to help build new proteins and regenerate cells, thus
rejuvenating skin, relieve arthritic pain, muscle and joint pain/
stiffness, reduce inflammation, and diminish bruising.
It is the first and only device to be FDA-cleared to reduce the
appearance of wrinkles on the entire face, including the forehead,
crow’s feet, cheeks, naso -labial folds, jawline and lips, and is proven
to help minimise the appearance of pore size, promote even skin
tone, ease eye puffiness and promote a radiant glow.
LightStim for Wrinkles stimulates the skin’s natural ability to
produce collagen and elastin. It's complemented with a peptide
serum to enhance progress. A skincare range is available for added
support. LightStim for Pain is designed to temporarily alleviate
body aches and pains naturally while accelerating the body’s
healing process. Both systems are available as a professional device
and handhelds for home use.
LED devices do not generate heat and so do not have the
capacity to burn the skin or cause redness. They work effectively
pre- and post-surgery to promote accelerated wound healing, as
well as adjunct treatments before (to prepare skin) and after such
non-surgical procedures as injectables, microdermabrasion, dermal
needling, IPL and laser to reduce short terms side effects and
enhance overall results.
But they are also very popular with consumers as a stand-alone
treatment for the “glow-getting” factor. Many providers say their
clients become almost addicted and will book as much as once
a week for the all-round glow it gives them. All of which makes
LightStim LED a highly attractive investment option.
ate last year I had dermal filler injections to offset hollows
under my eyes. As a bonus, I came away with a shiner that
looked like I’d gone 10 rounds with Rocky Balboa.
I was well aware that it’s an unfortunate but common side effect
when having fillers and anti-wrinkle injectables that bruising and
swelling can occur for up to a week or more. But this bruise was so
... black ... and had barely budged in 10 days since the event.
Bruising has never been that big a deal for me in pursuit of
ultimately looking fresher - that is if you don’t mind 100 people a
day pointing out that you have a black eye: `Oh no, really? Thanks
for letting me know!’ but many patients you see may not be so zen.
This time, I certainly wasn’t. A much-anticipated holiday in Italy
was imminent and, when in Rome, I figured I just couldn’t have a
black eye. I was feeling nervous that it would still be visible by the
time I landed at Fiumicino Airport to taste la dolce vita.
But with serendipitous timing, the week before my departure I
went to a meeting at BLC Cosmetics, the Australian distributors of
LightStim LED professional and home-use devices. Julie Fitzhenry,
Education Associate for BLC, took one look at my eye and ushered
me to the corporate training room for a 20-minute session under
LightStim Professional, saying it would accelerate the fading of the
bruise as well as generally rev up my skin.
She also offered to lend me a LightStim handheld until I left for
Italy, saying it could be used safely up to three times a day.
The following morning, I swear the bruise had faded at least
50 percent. I continued “zapping” (a misnomer, as it’s a gentle,
warming sensation) 2-3 times a day. Within three days the bruise
was a tiny shadow of its former self and my skin looked peachier.
Originally used by NASA scientists to test plants’ abilities to grow
in space, LEDs’ healing benefits were discovered when they realised
any wounds or pigmentation on their hands repaired quickly due to
the exposure to the light and its ability to promote tissue growth.
LightStim has advanced NASA’s LED technology with patented
MultiWave technology to simultaneously emit multiple wavelengths
of light. The technology can be used for both professional and at-
home treatments: ie. Professional 2-Panel Anti-Ageing and 2-Panel
Pain Lights, and handheld Anti-Ageing and Pain Lights.
LED devices pack a powerful punch
for any practice, boosting treatment
results (happy patients) and the
bottom line. Clinical Aesthetics editor
Jenni Gilbert tells why.
